Overview
The company, General Electronics & Instrumentation Corporation (Private) Limited
(to be referred as "GEIC" hereinafter) was registered as an electronics components
and instruments trading company in 1966, with its head office in Singapore.
In 1969, GEIC was appointed as the Motorola Semiconductor authorized distributor.
Currently, GEIC's principal activities include the industrial distribution of
active and passive electronic components and the design & development of dedicated
application-based projects including professional consultancy, bureau services,
turnkey solutions, system integration, customer care services and
the provision of online services such as e-business and e-shopping.

Structure
In April 1995, Genlink Technologies International Pte Ltd ("GT") took over the
entire shareholdings of GEIC. GT was set-up as a strategic foray into the electronics
industry. With fresh capital and a group of professional managers, GEIC was
restructured to provide the strategic thrusts for further market expansion and
technology upgrading electronics industry.
Overseas Investments
All the past years, GEIC have built up a regional presence with branch offices
in Kuala Lumpur, Penang, Jakarta, China, Australia and New Zealand. The company
will continue to expand regionally to establish its namesake in the growth economies
of the ASEAN.
Infrastructure
Development
GEIC has developed into a major player in the regional electronics & networking
components distribution as well as engineering support services for IT & communication
systems.
The company consists of two divisions, the Components Distribution Division
and the Value Added Distribution Division. The Components Distribution Division
is further sub-divided into the active and passive components distribution sections,
while the Value Added Distribution division is further sub-divided into the
systems and IT & Communications sections.
