in Leap Year
Confidently, the clock ticked away on the eve of 28th February 2000 without
much fanfare. All the servers and O.A. Equipments functioned perfectly and
business went as usual on Tuesday 29th February 2000.
26th January 2000 - Non-Exclusive
Distributor Agreement with Eonic Systems nv.
GEIC Pte Ltd signed a world-wide non-exclusive distributor agreemeet with
Eonic Systems nv. of Belgium, to distribute their highly-acclaimed Real Time
Operating System (RTOS) and development tools for DSP and ASIC technologies,
called the VIRTUOSO. In addition, the new ALTAS system, a hardware DSP system
based on the Analog Devices’ Hammerhead SHARC family processor that was built
around the Virtuoso RTOS, will be release shortly. Eonic Systems nv.

1st January 2000 - GEIC and
Solomon Systech signed Sales Representative Agreement.
GEIC Pte Ltd was proud to announce that we have signed a Sales Representative
Agreement with Solomon Systech Limited (incorporated in Hong Kong) to cover
the territory of Singapore and Malaysia on their LCD Driver and Controller

January 2000 - Smooth transistion into the new Millennium
With more than a year of planning, preparation and implementation, GEIC have
successfully fought off any Y2K issues relating to our hardware or software
infrastructure. The company spent over S$30K to update all its aging PCs and
business software. The clock ticking away on the eve of the new year went along
without a hitch. All the servers and O.A. Equipments functioned perfectly and
business went as usual on 3th January 2000. However, we will be on guard again
on the 28th Febraury 2000 for the leap year transition.

December 1999 - Distributorship with Kemet ceased.
With effect from 31th December 1999, GEIC Pte Ltd will ceased to distribute
Kemet’s family of ceramic and tantalum capacitors. The decision is in line with
the company’s new direction for the new millennium, by concentrating on high-end
valued-added product distribution and expanding the AMP networking peripherals
products into the e-business.
15th October 1999 - Exclusive
Distributorship for BittWare, Inc.
GEIC Pte Ltd signed an exclusive distributor agreement with BittWare, Inc
(USA) to distribute their DSP boards and software products, covering the 10
countries of the ASEAN. BittWare, Inc.
October 1999 - GEIC to implement
e-Business for the new millennium.
The management of GEIC Pte Ltd formally announced that the company will implement
and adopt e-Business for the new millennium. Budgetary planning will follow
immediately. It will be a complete e-Business infrastructure, with on-line
product e-Buying and e-Payment. The e-Business will cover both Business-to-Business
(B->B) for our existing and new OEM customers and Business-to-Consumer (B->C)
for consumer on-line shopping. The new GEIC-SHOP will go on-line in Q1’2000.

- First ever Virtuosoä closed-door training in Singapore
On the 3rd July 2000, GEIC organized its first closed door training for its
new products, the Virtuosoä Real Time Operating System (RTOS) and Development
Software Tools from Eonic Systems nv. of Belgium. The participants were a
brilliant group of pre-selected 16 DSP engineers from the Singapore DSO National
Laboratories. The trainer, Mr. Peter Lyssens who heads the Eonic Belgium training
centre, was specially flown into Singapore to conduct this three full-day
intensive training, emulating the exact syllabus and hands-on exercises that
are conducted in Belgium regularly. This training will fully equipped our
local DSO engineers with the valuable knowledge in our Virtuosoä RTOS product,
which are widely used in military and defense applications worldwide.

July 2000 - Initial Public Offering (IPO) Launched
New Wave Technologies Limited was granted the Approved-In-Principal by SGX to
be listed on SESDAQ. To date, the Group has not only accumulate more than 30
years of experience but also expanded its business mix to cover electronic components
distribution, value-added distribution and e-commerce and IT services. These
activities are under-taken by its 2 subsidiaries, namely General Electronics
& Instrumentation Corporation Private Limited (GEIC) and Eplus Technologies
Private Limited. As an electronic components distributor, New Wave has secured
non-exclusive distributorships from 16 principals for more than 5500 products.
High quality products from USA, UK, Germany, Belgium and Japan constitute a
complete range of electronics and IT/Networking products for today's demanding
market requirement. With the public listing, the group will better positioned
financially to prepare
the companies and our staffs for the future in the ever-changing high technology
electronics marketplace and the revolution of the Internet economy.

Our product principal, Fluke Network Asia, conducted a 2-day training for their
regional sales representatives and distributors. GEIC is delighted to be able
to send two of our staff for this valuable and enriching product training. During
this training, current products were revised and new products were introduced,
with detailed materials and the know-how to better serve our customer. Fluke
Network, a manufacturer of high-precision and accurate network testers, have
set numerous standard and achievements in this challenging computer networking
world, with most of the cable and network equipment manufacturers adopting and
owning the Fluke family of testers. GEIC Pte Ltd is proud to be the distributors
and we will strive to expand the market share and customer base for this excellent
product.
